Whether going back-to-school, traveling, daycare or even just a day out of the house, these are the best backpacks to carry all your kids wants and needs.

Not too long after my daughter turned one, I transitioned from the diaper bag to a lightweight toddler backpack that she could carry. Inside I pack wipes and a few diapers, snacks, and toys. It became a necessary accessory for traveling, trips to the park or even running quick errands with me.

Below are my favorite kids backpacks from toddler to preteen:

Kids Eco Backpack

Jem & Bea Kids Eco Backpack

I absolutely love this nerd-esque backpack design from The Tot. Per the website, it’s made from recyclable material from disused fishing nets. It’s also non-toxic and water-repellent.
Kane Kids Nylon Pink Puffer Backpack

How cool is this waffle design backpack from State? It’s big enough to fit their 13’ laptop or tablet, school folders, lunch box and even a water bottle.
Choice Toddler Cartoon Animal Backpack

Amazon has the cutest plush backpacks for your toddler in an array of animal designs. It’s roomy enough to fit diapers, wipes, snacks, and a few toys. It’s also super lightweight so your kid can carry it all by themselves.

This backpack from Smallable has handles that are adjustable and removable. It can be worn on the shoulders or as a shoulder bag. And it’s on sale!
Perry Mackin Charlie Kids' School Backpack

How trendy is this backpack from Perry Mackin?! It’s very well made with water-resistant fabric and durable synthetic leather detailing. It also repels moisture and is machine washable.
