To help communication stay strong with your partner, we recommend “Check-In Sundays.”
Instead of nit-picking every issue during the week, take time once a week to address things that bothered you or give praise to the things your partner did well. This is not about holding grudges. Instead, you are giving yourself time to calmly address how your partner’s actions made you feel. After a few Sundays, you’ll notice that you and your partner pay closer attention to the way they treat you and the delivery methods used when trying to communicate. No one wants to be the one with 10 negative notes on Sunday. This almost turns into a competition of who demonstrates an almost perfect week!
